What Is HealthLink Insurance?

Healthlink is one of the largest healthcare providers in the central United States. They have a variety of plans all of which cover addiction and mental health treatment to a degree. They currently offer three tiers of plans that provide addiction and mental health treatment:

  • Tier 1 – Covers 100% of both inpatient and outpatient treatment after the copay
  • Tier 2 – Covers up to 90% of inpatient and outpatient treatment after the copay
  • Tier 3 – Covers up to 80% of inpatient and outpatient treatment after the copay

If you are unsure of which tier your plan falls under or have any questions in regards to what your plan covers, you can reach out to your insurance representative. You can also contact us at Sana Lake. We will look at your insurance policy and let you know which of our services are covered. If you will incur any out-of-pocket expenses we will also let you know about that before you begin treatment.

What Addiction and Mental Health Services Does HealthLink Cover?

Everyone requires their unique form of treatment, based on what works best for them and their needs. That’s why each treatment plan is custom-made and not a cookie-cutter plan. HealthLink understands that which is why they provide coverage for a variety of different treatment options for both addiction and mental health. What exactly your HealthLink plans covers depends largely on the plan type that you have.

While many people might think that if they are struggling with substance abuse and addiction that they can just go straight to rehab, that’s not always the case. In most situations, the first step is to undergo detox treatment before entering into a treatment program. Detoxing is done to rid the body of all the harmful substances in it so that the body and the brain can begin the healing process.

Due to the nature of detoxing and its symptoms, detoxing should be done under the care and supervision of trained medical professionals. There are several different options for detoxing including medical facilities, dedicated detox centers, and treatment centers that also offer detox like Sana Lake Recovery. Attempting to self-detox can be incredibly dangerous and even life-threatening.

HealthLink understands the importance of detox and that it is a crucial first step. That’s why, based on your HealthLink plan, you might be covered for detox at little to no cost to you. If you are unsure if your plan covers detox you can reach out to your insurance representative or even us at Sana Lake.

One detox has been completed, the next step is to enter into one of three treatment programs. The most common, and usually the most popular of those programs is inpatient treatment. With inpatient treatment, you live at the facility for the duration of treatment. This allows you to go through treatment in a very structured setting where you go to your counseling and therapy sessions and avoid the temptations that the outside world might provide. Inpatient treatment also typically provides access to services that other treatment options don’t, including access to medical care and services.

Based on your HealthLink plan and which tier you have, you might be covered for inpatient treatment in full. Even if your plan doesn’t cover 100% of inpatient treatment it will likely cover at least a portion of it. If you aren’t sure about the type of coverage you have or you have any questions about inpatient treatment, you can reach out to us directly at Sana Lake Recovery. We will take a look at your policy and answer any questions you may have before you begin treatment.

For those who are looking for another treatment option that doesn’t involve living at the facility, outpatient treatment is likely the best option for them. There are several reasons why outpatient treatment might be a better option than inpatient. For starters, not everyone can just stop their life completely and go to inpatient treatment. Some people have too many responsibilities or commitments. Others simply just don’t want to not live in their own homes while in treatment. There are also certain situations where a person’s addiction isn’t considered to be severe enough to warrant inpatient treatment.

Those who choose outpatient treatment still attend the same therapy and counseling sessions that those who are in inpatient treatment do. They even have access to some of the same services. The big difference, of course, is that they don’t live at the facility. They come to the facility for their treatment each day and then return home to their regular lives. Since they aren’t living at the facility they must have a safe and supportive home environment to return to each day to limit the temptations.

Just like with inpatient treatment, HealthLink covers outpatient treatment as well and, depending on the tier, might even cover it in full. If you have any questions in regards to outpatient treatment and your coverage you can contact your insurance representative or us at Sana Lake.

What Other Services Are Covered By My HealthLink Plan?

Not everyone that needs treatment falls into the outpatient or inpatient categories. Some might be suffering from a mental health issue or even those who suffer from a mental health issue AND a substance abuse issue, also known as a co-occurring disorder. For those people, a partial hospitalization program might be best for them.

Partial hospitalization provides more access to medical care and treatment but still allows the person to go home at the end of the day. It’s a middle ground between inpatient and outpatient treatment.

At Sana Lake, we also offer a wide variety of mental health and therapy services in addition to addiction treatment. Some of these treatments and therapies include:

  • Group therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Family therapy
  • Cognitive-behavioral Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Medication management

Depending on your HealthLink plan you might be covered for some of, if not all these treatments and therapies as well. If you are unsure about what is and isn’t covered, let us know. We will be happy to look over your policy and answer any questions you may have.

Is HealthLink Considered In-Network?

We are proud to work with HealthLink and its clients to ensure that they get the best care and treatment possible. Since they are considered an in-network provider for us, that means that you can get the treatment that you need at little to no cost to you. For many HealthLink plans, all you have to do is pay the copay and the rest is covered in full. Even if your policy doesn’t offer 100% coverage, chances are it will cover at least some of your treatment, meaning your out-of-pocket expenses will be less.

Do You Have HealthLink Insurance?

Addiction can be a scary and stressful time. You might not know what is going to happen to you or if you can even get the help that you need. At Sana Lake Recovery we understand those struggles. That’s why we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the help you need and do it at a price you can afford.

In addition to the many treatment programs that we offer to treat a wide variety of substances of abuse, we are also proud to accept HealthLink insurance.
