What Does My WellFirst Insurance Plan Cover?

Each person is unique and so are their needs. This applies to all aspects of life, including addiction treatment. While more than one person might suffer from addiction to the same substance or even suffer from similar mental health conditions, the way they respond to treatment is unique to them.

At Sana Lake, we provide treatment for a variety of different substances of abuse and mental health conditions including:

At Discovery Institute, we provide several treatment options. Some of these include:

Based on your WellFirst insurance plan, your treatment might be covered at little or even no out-of-pocket expense. If you are unsure about what your policy does and does not cover, you can reach out to your insurance representative or you can contact us at Sana Lake. We will be happy to look over your policy and answer any questions you have to the best of our ability. Additionally, we will let you know if there will be any out-of-pocket expenses before beginning treatment.

WellFirst Plan Detox Treatment

Does My WellFirst Plan Cover Detox?

Before any sort of drug, alcohol, or mental health treatment can begin, the first step is to undergo detox treatment. Detoxing is done to rid the body of any harmful substances so that it can begin the healing process. Detoxing can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to complete based on the substance or substances and the severity of the addiction.

Due to the nature of detox and the side effects associated with it, detoxing should be done under the care and supervision of trained medical professionals. It is recommended that detoxing be done at either a local medical facility, a dedicated detox center, or a treatment center that also offers detox services such as Sana Lake.

Attempting to self-detox can be incredibly dangerous and even potentially life-threatening. WellFirst knows how crucial detox is to the overall recovery process. That’s why they cover detox treatment as well. Depending on your WellFirst policy you might have to provide certain documentation or meet certain requirements to be granted coverage.

If you are unsure if your policy covers detox or you want to make sure you meet the requirements, you can reach out to your insurance representative. You can also contact us at Sana Lake. We will be happy to look over your policy and answer any questions that you may have to the best of our ability. Additionally, if you will have to pay for part or all of your treatment out-of-pocket we will let you know that as well.

WellFirst Cover Treatment Programs

Which Treatment Programs Does WellFirst Cover?

Once detox has been completed, the next step is to enter into a treatment program. At Sana Lake Recovery, we offer a variety of treatment programs all of which are covered under most WellFirst insurance plans including:

  • Inpatient Treatment
  • Outpatient Treatment
  • Partial Hospitalization

Also known as residential treatment, inpatient treatment is exactly like it sounds, During inpatient treatment, you live at the facility and go to your various therapy and counseling sessions. Because of the structured setting and the access to medical care and other services that aren’t offered to those in outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment is the preferred treatment option by treatment professionals. Additionally, since you are living at the facility, it eliminates the risk of relapse occurring during treatment since there are no outside distractions or temptations.

Unfortunately, for one reason or another, not everyone can enter an inpatient treatment program. Some people are unable to live at the facility due to family, school, or work commitments. There are also situations where a person’s substance abuse issue doesn’t require inpatient treatment. For people who are unable or who do not require inpatient treatment, there is outpatient treatment.

Outpatient treatment involves many of the same components as inpatient treatment, such as therapy and counseling sessions. The major difference though is once treatment is done for the day you can return home to your regular life.

Additionally, since there is no housing involved with outpatient treatment, the cost tends to be significantly less than inpatient.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides more access to medical care and treatment than you would get with inpatient treatment. However, unlike inpatient treatment, you are still able to come to the facility for treatment and then return home, much in the same way as outpatient treatment. It’s a middle ground between inpatient and outpatient treatment.

Most WellFirst plans cover inpatient, outpatient treatment, and/or partial hospitalization. This allows us at Sana Lake Recovery to provide you with the best possible treatment option that works best for you and your schedule. If you aren’t sure which treatment option is best for you, or if you want to make sure your insurance plan covers your preferred treatment option, you can reach out to your insurance representative or you can contact us. We will take a look at your policy and let you know what your plan covers and if there will be any out-of-pocket expenses as well as how much they will be.

What Other Services Does WellFirst Insurance Cover?

Not everyone needs just addiction treatment. Many people who suffer from substance abuse and addiction also suffer from one or more mental health conditions. Sometimes it’s those mental health conditions that lead them down the path of drugs or alcohol. In some cases, substance abuse results in the development of a mental health condition.

For those people suffering from a co-occurring disorder, there are treatment options available for you as well and they might even be covered by your WellFirst insurance policy.

At Sana Lake, we offer a wide variety of mental health and therapy services in addition to addiction treatment. Some of these treatments and therapies include:

If you are unsure if your insurance plan will cover any of these therapies and treatments, feel free to either contact your insurance representative or you can even reach out to us at Sana Lake. We will take a look at your insurance plan and let you know what is and isn’t covered and let you know if there will be any out-of-pocket expenses.

Is WellFirst In-Network?

At Sana Lake Recovery, we are proud to work with WellFirst and accept their insurance as part of our in-network program. That means that you can come and get the treatment you need at little or even no cost to you.

If you do incur any out-of-pocket expenses we will work with you to make sure that it is an amount you can afford. We don’t want money to be the reason why someone doesn’t get the help that they need.

Do You Have WellFirst Insurance and Need Treatment?

At Sana Lake Recovery, we understand that while choosing to enter treatment can be a big step to helping turn your life around, it can also be a scary and stressful time. The last thing you should be worried about is will your insurance cover your treatment or how much it’s going to cost you out-of-pocket.

That’s why we proudly accept many different insurance plans including those with WellFirst insurance. Should you have any questions about your policy as it pertains to your mental health and addiction treatment services, you can either reach out to your insurance representative or simply contact us.
