Thankful for my experience at this amazing facility. Such caring individuals with so much knowledge helped me through a very rough time.
The staff loved me and encouraged me when I was done with life. Sana gave me strength and hope. My life is so different now and I’m forever grateful. Sana keeps making sure my walk is sound and safe too. Thanks Sana family. You brought me back to life!
Their aftercare is amazing! Activities on the weekends and members meetings every week. Once residential was over, it wasn’t just a pat on the back and send me home. I had 2 phone calls before I got home to make sure that I was doing ok. This place is the best!
There is no amount of stars that represent my appreciation for this facility! It changed my life. The staff is amazing. The grounds are amazing. The feel of the facility is amazing and nothing else compares in Missouri. Believe me, I’ve been to most of them.
I've been to a few treatment centers hoping to gain what I need to fight this disease of addiction. Out of them, Sana Lake truly helped me find myself and got to the root of my problems. I'm forever grateful for the whole team from detox to aftercare. I don't have a single bad thing to say.

What's Holding You Back From The St. Louis Rehab?
Reaching out for help can feel overwhelming or even impossible. But, don’t let fear of the unknown or fear of failure paralyze you. Without intervention, the situation will get worse and impact more of your life. For now, take it one step at a time. The initial no-pressure phone call can help you feel better too. No need to put it off.
What types of addiction do you treat?
- Alcohol: Over 60% of patients are treated for alcohol issues, as the most commonly abused substance in the state.
- Opioids: Over 20% of patients come for opioid addiction treatment, including prescription painkillers and heroin, mirroring the significant opioid misuse issues across Missouri.
- Stimulants: Around 10% of patients come for issues with stimulants, including cocaine and methamphetamine, which is higher than in other states.
What is treatment here like?
Treatment is holistic and comprehensive, integrating different therapies and medications.
The first step is detox. It often takes several days to feel physically your best, but it’s nothing like doing it on your own!
Therapy includes talk therapy, group therapy and wellness options like meditation, yoga and journaling. You’ll get down to the core of your issue – including addressing underlying issues like trauma, depression, anxiety, sleep and even family therapy if needed.
You’ll talk about what to do after treatment to stay well. You have the option to continue outpatient therapy in St. Louis or virtually, as well as sober living.
You also have access to the lake, including fishing and paddle boating, and to a gym.
It is nothing like a hospital or jail. It’s not like other rehabs either.
What is the cost of treatment?
Most patients here use their insurance. We’re in-network with most major health insurance companies including Blue Cross, Blue Shield, WellFirst Health, Health Link, United Healthcare / Optum, Humana, Mercy, Cigna, Tricare, UMR and CoreSouce.
Insurance can be very confusing and varies dramatically by plan, so there’s not one “price” every person pays. It depends on how much a specific insurance plan covers. For example, someone who was hospitalized earlier in the year may have full inpatient and outpatient treatment covered for little or even no cost.
We can talk to your insurance company and explain everything to you. No one knows that you inquired. Just call (314) 664-9931 or fill out the form on the website. There is no commitment.
Do I need inpatient or outpatient treatment?
The good news is that Sana Lake offers both inpatient and outpatient options. You can get unbiased advice when you call.
Inpatient treatment is generally recommended if you’ve tried outpatient treatment before without success, if you are experiencing severe addiction issues, especially with substances like alcohol and benzodiazepines where withdrawal can be dangerous, or if you are ready to commit fully to recovery in a structured setting.
Outpatient treatment might be suitable if you have less severe dependency and strong support systems in your daily environment.
The most effective treatment is a combination — gong to inpatient rehab to detox and reset, then continuing outpatient therapy to help stay sober ongoing in the real world.
You don’t have to do both, but you do have to do something if you want to see real change.
What support do you offer after treatment is over?
The support after treatment is what sets Sana Lake apart. There are PHP and IOP options to continue intensive therapy while living at home, if needed. You also have outpatient, medication management, sober living and family programming that can be continued ongoing.
Once you are fully moved on from Sana Lake, you still have support for 5 years through the extended care program, which involves:
- Robust, comprehensive member recovery plans supported by our Peer Recovery Coaches for up to 5 years.
- Weekly Members for Life events to strengthen their connection with other recovering members, family, and friends.
- Extended care meetings and special programs to help individual members sustain Recovery for Life. Helping members connect with the community of recovery.”
How do I start addiction treatment?
Getting started is as simple as a friendly conversation to see if our treatment options are a good fit for you. You’ll speak with someone who has personal experience with drug or alcohol challenges—ensuring a judgment-free discussion.
Deciding to pursue treatment is completely your decision; you’ll never be pressured. If you decide to proceed, we’ll discuss insurance details with you upfront and can schedule you’re arrival. Don’t worry, it’s not a scary process!
