Addiction Treatment Service Areas: From KC & STL to Springfield & Columbia
Patients come here from all over Missouri. It’s the best treatment option in the state, whether you’re from bustling Kansas City or St. Louis, a smaller city like Springfield, Joplin or Columbia, Cape Girardeau, Branson or even a rural Missouri small town.
St. Louis Area
The majority of our locations are in St. Louis. In fact, Newsweek rated Sana Lake the #1 addiction treatment center in the St. Louis area. Patients come from all over St. Louis City, as well as West County, North County and South County — from Florissant to Chesterfield to Oakville. Many other local patients come from St. Charles County (cities like St. Charles, St. Peters and O’fallon), as well as counties like Franklin, Lincoln and St. Francois.
Kansas City Area
Kansas City and surrounding cities (like Lee’s Summit, Independence, Blue Springs and St. Joseph) are where the second largest group of patients here call home. Beyond the typical KC counties of Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass, patients come from counties like Buchanan and Johnson, and even Wyandotte County on the Kansas side too. Sadly, the treatment options in KC are limited. But, a nationally recognized treatment center is only a few hour’s drive.
Mid-Missouri Area
While plenty of patients travel here from other states, the next largest group of patients comes from the non-KC and STL areas across Missouri, including Columbia / Boone County, Jefferson City, Springfield / Greene County, Joplin / Jasper County. The options in smaller cities are very limited and getting away from triggers can be life-changing. From anywhere in the state, our Dittmer, MO treatment center is worth the 4-hour or less drive.
Truly the best experience with addiction treatment! Sana Lake cares about each member individually and takes the time to build relationships with you that lasts a lifetime.
Truly a blessing. Great staff. The place is incredible! If you're serious about your sobriety, this is the place you want to be.
Addiction Treatment Serving All Missouri
Even if it’s further than you want to travel for rehab, you have access to one of the best treatment centers in the county! You’ve traveled much longer for a vacation and probably didn’t stay near as long as you can in treatment. It’s worth it!
Most states in the Midwest lacked treatment options. After addiction issues became national news, states like Ohio and Illinois now have double the registered treatment facilities. Missouri needs to follow suit.
Less than 5% of the people in Missouri who need addiction treatment access it, which is worse than national numbers. It's not just the rural towns that are left out either. St. Louis and Kansas City have a life-threatening lack of treatment options.
Sana Lake was founded in 2020 to give more people in our communities access to industry-leading care. We are constantly looking to expand capacity so that more people across Missouri get the help they need.
Missouri faces significant addiction issues. St. Louis City has the highest rate of drug overdose deaths in the state, though Kansas City reports overdoses increasing nearly 75% since 2019.
Additionally, rural areas in Missouri face high rates of addiction and overdose deaths as well. In addition to St. Louis, Jackson County and Greene County have the highest rates of DWIs in the state.
According to the latest data, 2,178 people in Missouri lost their lives to a drug overdose, which is a tragically increasing number that getting treatment can prevent.
The biggest difference is usually in aftercare options. Luckily, Sana Lake offers virtual options to ensure everyone in the state has access to intensive continued therapy, support meetings, medication management and peer coaching after inpatient rehab. We also have relationships with providers all over the state to ensure you are able to continue to access the support you need.
Those from small towns also tend to have less exposure to any treatment options prior to coming here, while those from larger cities tend to try support meetings, therapy or other treatment options before coming in. Either way, we meet you where you're at. And, the experience on a 55-acre private campus is peaceful and private regardless of where you travel in from.
