How We Help

PROGRAMS & SERVICES

Tele-Medicine

For those who cannot or don’t wish to come to our center, we offer remote services via Telehealth.

Partial Hospitalization Program

The Sana Lake Partial Hospitalization Program offers an intermediate structure and guided recovery services. With our recovery-oriented system of care, you will receive recovery support for any level of treatment you need. In partial hospitalization, the increased supervision of PHP will help you with accountability, feeling safe, and benefiting from genuine care. You will attend both individual and group therapy and receive 5-6 hours of recovery services every day—building a strong foundation for future success.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) supports long-term recovery by helping you incorporate valuable self-care tools, group therapy, and a customized program into your daily life. During this program, you will learn new skills and join an empowering recovery community and support staff. This is an investment in long term recovery.

Therapy

At Sana Lake Behavioral Wellness Center, we provide both individual therapy and group addiction therapy. In addition, each member is given an individualized treatment plan. This provides our members with a comprehensive “whole person” approach to addiction therapy. Moreover, we offer our members the best chance at Recovery for Life.

Because addiction often has a great impact on families and couples, we also offer a family therapy program. Our therapists educate members and their families about the effects of addiction. By doing so, families learn to support the member in their recovery and make specific positive changes as a unit.

At BWC, we offer two different approaches to therapy. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is talk therapy to help people learn to identify and change harmful thought patterns. Harmful thoughts lead to negative behaviors and emotions. CBT’s focus is on changing harmful thoughts to objective, realistic thoughts. For members with more severe issues such as suicidal thoughts, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is used.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

Medication-assisted treatment, known as pharmacotherapy, is the effective use of medications to treat addiction and promote recovery. The main goals of pharmacotherapy are:

  • Reverse the effects of drugs or alcohol
  • Control the withdrawal symptoms
  • Block the desire to use
  • Treat co-occurring mental health disorders
Psychiatry

Psychiatry offers therapy and medications to manage mental health symptoms and improve the quality of life.

The benefits of psychiatry include:

  • Changes to personal and work-life
  • Coming to terms with your illness
  • Controlling emotions
  • Helps process past trauma
  • Offers guidance and support
Peer Support

All certified by the state of Missouri, our Peer Support Specialists offer the unique combination of professional guidance and personal, first-hand experience. Throughout your treatment and into long-term recovery, you’ll learn from your dedicated Peer Support Specialist about making meaningful connections with others and developing new ways of communicating.

Detox and Recover at Sana Lake

The first step of recovery is typically a drug or alcohol detox. The goal of detox is to rid your body of toxins that have been built up through substance abuse. Getting clean is crucial, especially at a Missouri drug rehab center. Physical and physiological symptoms are both addressed during a detox.

Detox can become very difficult and dangerous to undergo on your own. Attempting to detox without medical supervision can have fatal consequences. The full range of addiction treatment includes detox.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication-assisted treatment can improve your well-being after dealing with the harsh effects of withdrawal symptoms at a Missouri drug rehab center. Medication-assisted treatment is common for alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioid addiction. It’s best to consult with a health care professional for medication-assisted treatment if you’re pregnant or have a pre-existing medical condition.

The medications used in medication-assisted treatment can include:

  • Naloxone
  • Naltrexone
  • Buprenorphine
  • Suboxone

Get Assessed for Drug and Alcohol Treatment

Kansas City drug treatment centers also offer a wide range of other drug and alcohol treatment resources that employ person-centered approaches. Drug and alcohol treatment programs can provide different levels of care. Some programs offer around-the-clock supervision, while others don’t. To determine which type of treatment is best suited for your needs, get assessed by one of our trained medical professionals.

How Will I Be Able to Afford Addiction Treatment in Kansas City?

Payment assistance is crucial for recovering individuals. Many alcohol and drug addiction treatment programs provide a sliding fee scale for patients to afford these health services. A sliding fee scale is a flexible fee system, which means it is the fee that the client can pay, as it will go up or down based on the client’s ability to pay. A sliding fee scale enables patients to pay for drug rehab based on their income.

Alcohol and drug rehab may seem like a barrier to some but there is an opportunity to discover your addiction treatment options. A sliding fee scale can provide many benefits to someone who may not have been able to afford it, although private rehab facilities may not offer this.

Medicaid and Medicare provide a safety net for those seeking addiction treatment programs. Rehab centers in Missouri will be able to determine if they accept these government programs. Payment assistance is crucial for those who may not come from financially stable backgrounds. Drug use can accrue debt. Rehabilitation centers in Kansas City could offer low-to-no-cost drug and alcohol treatment.

Kansas City, Missouri Recovery Meetings

Kansas City offers many great person-centered drug and alcohol treatment resources. A better life can grow through a support system. One of Kansas City’s strongest resources in recovery meetings. Recovery meetings, also known as support groups, aim to help addicts give and get support. Your well-being could use a boost after receiving substance abuse treatment. Health services, such as rehab in Overland Park, are here to usher you into a new chapter of recovery.

Support groups are a major part of any treatment plan against substance abuse. They provide support, motivation, as well as peers that help you get through the challenges of drug and alcohol addiction. This support can make all the difference in a patient’s life. Your loved ones will appreciate the transformations ahead of your recovery within a Missouri drug rehab center.

It is advised that recovering addicts attend at least one meeting a week to abstain from drug use. Support groups are one way to avoid relapsing after finishing a treatment program at a Kansas City rehab. Most recovering alcoholics and addicts agree that it’s best to go to the same meeting each week. Consistency is key.

Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings (AA)

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are structured around a 12-step program. AA meetings target existing or recovering alcoholics. Regardless of what stage you’re in, you can receive help with your alcoholism. The programs also have a faith-based structure.

These meetings are a powerful tool in providing support, and receiving support back. The sense of community helps those in recovery push forward. Make rehabilitation centers in Kansas City your doorway into alcohol addiction recovery.

Narcotics Anonymous  Meetings (NA)

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) focuses on treating drug addiction. Any type of drug addiction counts. Members may be addicted to crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin, prescription opioids, and more. Some meetings are designed specifically for specific drugs. Upon joining an NA meeting in Kansas City, members usually get paired up with a mentor. These mentors help newcomers navigate drug addiction recovery. They teach them how to avoid relapses and how to deal with cravings.

Al-Anon and Nar-Anon Meetings

Just like how recovering addicts need a lot of help, family and friends of recovering addicts need just as much support. Al-Anon and Nar Anon meetings carried out through rehabilitation centers in Kansas City are mutual support programs for people whose lives have been affected by a drug addict or an alcoholic. The family and friends of an addict often have their struggle overlooked. You can experience an intimate relationship outside of your loved ones to develop understanding.

However, they deserve just as much support and care during the time of recovery, as well as after a life of alcohol abuse. Al-Anon and Nar Anon meetings in Kansas City connect loved ones. The support groups and meetings allow them to vent their frustrations. If you’re looking for an encouraging and empathetic community, Al-Anon and Nar-Anon meetings are a great fit in the model of Missouri drug rehab centers.

SMART Recovery Meetings

SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) meetings do not follow the same structure as 12-step meetings. They’re unique. Instead, they focus on behavioral therapies and counseling. They also encourage all different kinds of addicts to attend. They could be addicted to drugs, alcohol, or both drugs and alcohol. The main purpose of these meetings is to help addicts abstain from addictive behaviors. Addicts can be addicted to any type of substance or even activity.

More About Kansas City, Missouri

Kansas City, Missouri is well known for its contributions to the musical styles of jazz and blues as well as cuisine, specifically, Kansas City-style barbecue. Aside from the Kansas City charm, it’s also a beautiful place to live. With over 200 fountains it has earned the nickname, “City of Fountains”. The city also has more boulevards than any city other than Paris and has been called the Paris of the Plains.

Another benefit of Kansas City is that it’s very trendy and industrial. However, if you’re getting tired of the city, there are rolling hills less than 30 minutes away on every side. You can live the city life if that’s your thing, or you have the option of enjoying nature life. If you’re looking for drug and alcohol treatment programs in Missouri, the town of Kansas City may be it. From a beautiful neighborhood to tons of fun activities, Kansas City has a lot to offer.

However, Kansas City, MO, is no stranger to the drug and alcohol addiction problem we are facing nationwide. This statistic reveals a painful truth: communities are suffering from the drug epidemic nationwide. Substance abuse demands a full range of resources to combat this.
